Financial Controller
London Based (Hybrid)
Our client is a leading electronic trading venue who are looking to bring in a Financial Controller for their UK entities, managing an existing team. The role reports into the CFO.
What you will be doing:
- Daily Revenue and client management/KPI reporting
- Maintenance and control of the general ledger (and subsidiary ledgers)
- B2B Divisional month-end accounting procedures including review of P+L and Balance Sheet reconciliation
- B2B Divisional month-end reporting including and understanding variances
- Preparation and presentation of B2B monthly management accounts
- Preparation of B2B monthly consolidated management accounts and financial reports
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Preparation of UK accounts and lead external audit
- Support the B2B budget process
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assist with UK and European corporation tax computations
- Automation of daily reports
- Integration with other Group systems
- Improvements to current processes
What you will bring:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5 years+ relevant post qualification experience
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
- Drive and enthusiasm – a genuine desire to assist the business in achieving an ambitious growth strategy
- Experience working within the Financial Services industry, ideally within trading / capital markets
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience leading a team of part qualified staff
- Knowledge of various accounting standards including UK GAAP and IFRS
- Practical accounting knowledge
- A positive attitude and good team-work skills
- Experience with general ledger and subsidiary ledger processing and related controls
- A working knowledge of SAP general ledger system
- Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver output
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Good at relationship building and influencing/persuasion
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements and a commitment to improve the effectiveness of process and reporting across the Group
- Knowledge of FCA RegData returns including P+L, Balance Sheet and Capital Adequacy
