The Opportunity

We are hiring the founding member of our Sourcing and Research team in the US. This is a high-ownership role with real impact, offering the opportunity to help build how sourcing is delivered at EC1 across North America while working directly with senior consultants on live mandates.

Role Overview

The Sourcing & Research Consultant will own front-end search strategy and execution across North America. You will build market intelligence, support client intake sessions, execute best-in-class sourcing strategies, engage and qualify candidates, and deliver shortlist-ready output that directly drives interviews and hires.

This is not a list-building role. It is a strategic sourcing position offering ownership, accountability, visibility, and clear progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own front-end search strategy by building market maps, defining target universes, and delivering talent intelligence that shapes each mandate

  • Execute advanced sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean, X-ray, and AI-assisted search techniques

  • Lead candidate engagement end-to-end, including outreach messaging, follow-up cadence, and qualification calls

  • Produce high-quality candidate write-ups and curated shortlists for consultants and clients

  • Maintain strong operating discipline through CRM management, live pipelines, and weekly reporting

  • Develop repeatable search assets including Candidate Briefs, outreach libraries, interview packs, and qualification frameworks

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in sourcing, recruitment research, talent acquisition, or a high-output research role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging clients and candidates

  • Advanced LinkedIn Recruiter capability (Boolean required; X-ray and AI sourcing advantageous)

  • High attention to detail with strong CRM and pipeline discipline

  • Commercial judgement and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude) to improve efficiency and output quality

Desirable

  • Exposure to FinTech, financial services, enterprise software, market data, or capital markets

  • Experience supporting multi-functional searches (Sales, Technology, Product, Marketing, Operations)

  • Experience producing market maps, candidate briefs, or competitor intelligence

  • Consistent weekly pipeline creation with qualified candidates progressing through stages

  • Delivery of shortlist-ready profiles with clear, structured write-ups

  • High response rates driven by targeted outreach and personalised messaging

  • Actionable market feedback improving search direction and client alignment

  • Creation of scalable processes and assets that strengthen the sourcing function
