Tech Ops Lead/ Production Support Engineer

EC1 Partners are working with VC-backed Crypto Custodian who are in search for a Tech Ops Lead where you will be operating on their core platform.

This is an exciting hands-on technical role, which also involves stakeholder management and team leadership abilities. You will also be familiar with delivering and operating applications on Microsoft Azure in a regulated industry.

Security of a digital asset custodian’s infrastructure is of the upmost importance, as a result, you will be expected to work closely with the security team to help implement security policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Azure Platform Operations – own, maintain, and operate the Azure cloud services supporting business development, test, and production environments. Ensure that the platform is available and secure.
Technical Support – provide technical support of business applications and Microsoft estate (Azure and 365) for client services and internal teams. Develop and monitor support metrics to ensure excellence in client service. Collaborate with engineers and vendors providing third-line application support
Team leadership – coach junior technology support staff. Build out the function and team as the platform and activity scales
Incident management – reproduce customer issues, file bug reports, and escalate to engineering with proper and detailed documentation
Technical Documentation – create, update, and disseminate relevant technical policy, process and design documentation and support knowledge-base
Cost Management – effective cost management of the business’s usage of Azure
Security Policy Implementation – apply and maintain security policies in Azure estate, including integration with: Zscaler / Cloudstrike / Qualysis / SNOW and MS Defender / Azure Policies

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

You will have multiple years of experience providing Technology Operations for mission-critical business applications on Azure infrastructure, including:

Support practices and procedures to monitor and operate secure, cloud-native application infrastructure and troubleshoot technical issues in real-time
Technology vendor relationship management
Hands-on experience of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (including Teams and SharePoint)
An “automation-first” approach in how you build and operate services with a proven track record of championing a DevOps mindset
Understanding of security concepts in a cloud environment
Understanding of networking CCNA/Azure networking
Understanding of hybrid multi-cloud and containerisation
Managing Kubernetes clusters / AKS and network components in a production environment
Cloud security services (Zscaler / CloudStrike / Qualys / SNOW)
DevOps toolchain (e.g. IaC such as Terraform, Jenkins for software CI/CD automation)
