EC1 Partners Launches AI Talent Lab: Supporting FinTech’s Next Phase of AI Hiring

We are proud to announce the launch of AI Talent Lab, EC1 Partners’ new initiative helping fintech firms build and scale world-class artificial intelligence engineering and technology teams.

Becca Brennan, Tech & AI specialist recruiter EMEA, EC1 Partners

The practice will be led by Becca Brennan, our AI Technology & Engineering Lead, who specialises in AI, quantitative finance, capital markets, and electronic trading recruitment.

AI Talent Lab has been created in response to rapidly increasing demand for AI engineering capability across the financial technology ecosystem, as firms look to embed artificial intelligence across trading infrastructure, data platforms, risk systems, and customer-facing products.

Beyond hiring and team buildouts, the Lab expands our specialist capabilities to support fintechs in building and scaling AI engineering and technology teams, including:

  • AI and machine learning engineers
  • GenAI product and platform developers
  • AI infrastructure and MLOps specialists
  • Senior AI leaders with proven experience delivering production systems

The initiative will focus specifically on applied AI engineering roles within financial markets technology and fintech platforms, supporting the development of real-world, production-grade AI systems.

AI Talent Lab will combine EC1’s established fintech network with deeper market intelligence on emerging AI talent pools and hiring trends. The Lab enables our clients to design and build AI capabilities that deliver production-ready systems and measurable commercial impact, offering support with market mapping, role definition, and hiring strategy for AI engineering teams.

Commenting on the launch, Becca Brennan, AI Technology & Engineering Lead at EC1 Partners, said:

“AI adoption is accelerating rapidly across fintech, but many firms are still defining what an effective AI engineering team looks like in practice. Building teams that can deliver in production remains a key challenge. With AI Talent Lab, we help clients bridge that gap by creating AI engineering teams that deliver scalable, production-ready systems and real commercial impact.”

Jake Gottlieb, Managing Director, EMEA at EC1 Partners, added:

“AI is fundamentally reshaping the financial technology landscape, from how firms build trading systems to how they deliver products and manage risk. We’re seeing a clear shift from experimentation to real adoption, and that’s driving demand for firms to build long-term AI engineering capability.”

This launch builds on our broader mission to connect leading fintech companies with specialist talent worldwide. Since our establishment in 2008, we have supported thousands of placements across fintech globally and maintain a large network of professionals across EMEA and international markets.

With offices in London, New York, and Singapore, we work with some of the most innovative companies across electronic trading, payments, capital markets software, data platforms, crypto, and digital assets.

AI Talent Lab forms part of EC1’s continued investment in specialist fintech hiring expertise as artificial intelligence becomes a core engineering capability for financial technology companies.
