The financial industry is undergoing a significant transformation with the rise of ESG and ClimateTech. These concepts are redefining the way companies, investors, and consumers approach sustainability and environmental responsibility.
ESG refers to the three factors that are used to assess the sustainability and ethical impact of a company. Environmental factors consider a company’s carbon footprint, waste management practices, and overall sustainability efforts. Social factors evaluate a company’s treatment of employees, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and community involvement. Governance factors assess a company’s transparency, leadership, and risk management processes. Companies that score well in these areas are often seen as more responsible and sustainable, making them more appealing to investors and consumers.
ClimateTech, on the other hand, refers to the utilisation of technology to address and mitigate the effects of climate change. This encompasses everything from renewable energy technologies to carbon capture and storage solutions. ClimateTech startups are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to the pressing environmental challenges we face today.
