Compliance
We are looking for a Head of Compliance – UK to join our fast-growing FinTech! Our mission is to redefine global payments for online businesses, helping them to thrive in the digital economy. Responsibilities
You will be heading our global compliance function and will be responsible for the development of the global programme and product oversight.
Have overall responsibility for anti-money laundering – taking the role of the EMD individual for Compliance (equivalent to CF10/SMF16) and MLRO (equivalent to CF11/SMF17)
Where appropriate liaise with the FCA, maintaining an effective and open relationship with the regulator and managing all regulatory inquiries and reviews, including reporting and notification matters.
Monitoring and developing our conduct and financial crime risk frameworks and advising our local subsidiaries.
Act as the subject matter expert in the areas of client on-boarding, monitoring, and relevant regulation
Oversee KYC/CDD and AML/CTF checks conducted by members of the compliance, operations, and account management teams.
Provide regulatory training to the company and maintain training records.
Qualifications
Knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to EMI, banking, or trading activities
At least seven years working within Compliance and Financial Crime.
Emerging markets expertise/experience is advantageous.
Knowledge and expertise in AML regulations, including Sanctions in all regions of operation.
Prior experience in a high growth fintech is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the payments industry and electronic money institutions.
Expert in AML and regulatory compliance (CDD/KYC processes, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions) for a FinTech/Payment/E-Money company.

Chief Risk Officer – Digital Assets
Our client is a growing Digital Asset exchange, this role is to lead the risk management function for the exchange. You will be tasked to develop risk management policies, help put in place risk metrics and reporting, risk exposures etc.. You will be heading exchange-wide risk management for the group in Asia.
You shall be driving the over-riding vision, direction and plan for risk management for the business. This role reports directly to the Board and will be responsible for providing the risk agenda to the board on all risk matters.
You should possess a strong understanding of statistics and quantitative data analytic methods, as well as a good understanding of different risk management related software applications. Experience gained in or exposure to regulatory processes would be highly beneficial. A strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and knowledge in global regulatory environments would be highly preferred. A strong understanding of MAS regulatory compliance requirements is key. Experience gained within a traditional financial institution or market is needed, meaning exposure to multi-asset class instruments. Any experience in or exposure to digital assets, cryptos and relatable products is highly beneficial.

General Counsel
Our client is one of the most respected and reputable venues for liquidity in the world. They offer next generation trading software, systems and other services in a B2B capacity. They provide support to Tier one institutions and brokers.
Requirements:
Advise on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues relating to company products and services in the electronic trading space, in Europe and internationally, including licensing.
Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of a wide range of contracts. Provide legal guidance on contractual obligations and risks.
Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
Proactively monitor and assess the impact of regulatory developments in order to devise product changes to future-proof core products and support the development of emerging products.
Develop strategies and advise on a wide spectrum of issues, including consumer protection; data security, protection and privacy; anti-money laundering and licensing.
Partner with the business on new product and services developments and enhancements.
Assist and advise on the company’s global licensing strategy and work closely with Compliance to manage our growing licence portfolio.
Assist and advise on substantive legal matters that relate to employment, litigation, consumer complaints and investigations.
What you’ll need:
5-8 years of legal experience in an in-house role for a regulated financial services company, in private practice,or in Fintech.
Ability to translate complex and ambiguous legal principles into clear and concise advice business teams can act on.
Excitement about having a seat at the table in the development of the legal jurisprudence around trading.
Ability to have some fun and enjoy your days while working hard to implement solutions across the business.
Excellent communications skills. Providing crisp and practical legal advice and synthesising complex regulatory constructs succinctly and effectively, especially in circumstances where application of the law to the underlying technology and related products is unclear.
Excellent business judgement, analytic rigour, and legal pragmatism.
Ability to navigate through legal ambiguity with a high degree of focus.
Active membership of a law society as a barrister or solicitor.

MLRO
EC1 Partners is currently working with a digital asset payments institution and we’re looking for a MLRO based in SG. This role will provide the opportunity to design and implement risk controls, building and maintenance of combust compliance frameworks aligned with MAS requirements.
Responsibilities
Act as key person with regulators such as MAS, manage internal & external reporting, respond to requests
Perform MAS reporting and monthly regulatory reports and managing stakeholders
Keep up to date with regulatory changes, maintain industry best practices
Manage any escalations from compliance operational teams
Liaising with vendors, suppliers, financial institutions, and banks
Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AML/CFT within the Fintech space – ideally in Payments or Crypto
Bachelor/Master’s degree in Business/Law, or a related field
Familiarity with MAS regulatory frameworks, such as PSA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ACAMS/ ICA certification is a plus
Middle Office Analyst
My client is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of their multi asset post-trading platform. Their global trading platform supports trading across many asset classes and geographies. Their Middle Office team designs and operates the systems and processes that reconcile the firm’s trading with our various brokers and counterparties.
Due to the high volume of trades and complexity of the system, they rely heavily on automation and are looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail. In addition to reconciling trades and positions around the globe, their Middle Office team will collaborate with multiple teams to research corporate actions, maintain commissions programs, and track all costs incurred by our trading.
Being a member of the Middle Office team means working on a tight-knit, highly productive team. They are looking for someone who loves technology and wants to work on a variety of operational projects using whatever tools best solve the problem at hand. Excellent communication and the ability to work across teams are a must, along with a can-do, no-task-too-small attitude.
Role
In their fast-paced, multi-asset trading environment, you will be responsible for the following:
• Working closely with the Business Development, Post Trade and Accounting teams to identify improvements in the current workflow as well as assisting in the implementation of those improvements.
• Documenting complex processes to develop Middle Office guidelines and procedures.
• Onboarding new trading into existing technology and platforms.
• Reconciling daily position, cash and PnL breaks, coordinating with both internal and external parties.
• Maintaining and updating the commission structures across all markets.
Profile
• You have an interest in digital assets.
• Willingness to work with a product without an industry standard.
• Understanding of forks, proof-of-work vs. proof-of-stake, and other trading and digital assets-related features is a plus, but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical discipline like CS, Finance, Engineering, Physics, Math, etc, but we are open!
• 2 – 10 years of relevant experience. We’re looking for a wide range of experience levels.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with command-line text manipulations in UNIX operating systems (we use Linux).
• Experience in Python.
