Business Development Manager

Our technology is used by some of the largest institutions in the world, such as the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Nomura/Instinet.
The role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team, to help own and drive new business activity from specific customer segments focussed on SME financing including Corporate Finance advisers, corporate brokers, Investment Banks, and other private markets ecosystem parties. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the private markets industry ideally in a client facing role with a proven track record of high sales performance. As a growing team, the successful candidate will have the ability to have significant input into the growth of the business and own these specific customer segments.
Whilst we are primarily a remote working organisation, as a client facing team we will be targeting a hybrid model of ideally 2-3 days per week either in the office or with clients.
What you’ll do
Own the entire sales lifecycle for the Institutional customer, ranging from financial intermediaries including Investment Banks, Corporate Brokers and Corporate Finance Advisers
Successfully deliver Globacap’s value proposition to each institutional customer segment, demonstrating how Globacap’s technology can optimise their private markets workstream.
Become subject matter expert in designated target customer segment and work with Marketing team deliver tailored collateral
Drive thought leadership, working with Marketing to enhance our brand positioning
Leverage social media to engage with your network of Institutions globally
Own your pipeline management and reporting of performance indicators, conversion metrics and revenue forecasting
Speak at and moderate events both online and in-person if required
Customer advocate; Shaping the development of our product and helping prioritise roadmap
Preferred profile
Proven extensive experience in a business development, client relationship or sales role selling SaaS technology or investment products to institutional/enterprise clients
Previous experience in a corporate broking, corporate finance Equity/Debt Origination,, or Investment Banking role preferred
Knowledge of sales methodologies such as Sandler, MEDDIC, Challenger etc.
Knowledge of the private capital markets domain
Knowledge of and/or desire to work in the Blockchain/Crypto industry
Experience working with a start-up/scale-up business desirable but not essential
You will have a thirst for knowledge; constantly striving for self-improvement and feedback

Customer Success Role
Company’s Customer Success team is a tight-knit group of business-savvy technology enthusiasts who are passionate about harnessing the full potential of our industry-disrupting software. This critical function collaborates closely with our Sales team to support customer acquisition, leads the onboarding process for new customers onto the Company platform, fosters stronger relationships with existing clients, and captures critical feedback to help shape our evolving product roadmap.
As part of this dynamic team, you’ll have the opportunity to join our North America division, providing expert service to our clients across the UK, APAC, and North America. With your deep technical knowledge and business acumen, you’ll help ensure our customers are fully leveraging our platform’s capabilities to meet their unique needs and goals.
Core Responsibilities
● Acquire an in-depth understanding of our software platform, both from a functional and technical standpoint, in order to effectively and efficiently resolve customer inquiries.
● Perform system upgrades, test and deploy new features. You’ll also be responsible for providing customer facing documentation for new functionality and delivering training to ensure a smooth transition
● Collaborate with cross functional teams to facilitate the onboarding of new customers onto Company’s platform and leverage your knowledge to drive successful implementation projects.
● Act as a conduit between our customers and internal teams. Representing the voice of the customer to inform the product roadmap as well as driving Sales and Delivery process improvements.
Required Knowledge and Skills
● Proven experience in Client Support, Delivery and/or Technical Account Management.
● Excellent analytical skills and the ability to process complex data.
● Demonstrated experience working with data in various formats such as Relational Databases, XML, CSV, JSON.
● Strong understanding of Capital Markets asset classes such as FX, Rates or Equities.
● An ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
● Exceptional communication skills with a focus on quality and a high attention to detail.
● Proficiency with programming or scripting languages such as Java, VBA, Python,JavaScript or similar.
● Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and with a “can-do” attitude.
● Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM/ERP systems is desirable. ● A university level degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math is desirable.

Job Description – Primary Responsibilities:
The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the sales cycle within their sales region. You will be working with other sales members to share market intelligence and contribute collectively to their EMEA Sales plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to develop and nature relationships with clients and partners across multiple levels.
Ability to manage multiple sales process’ and co-ordinate the necessary internal stakeholders.
Able to describe and discuss clients products at length with prospects and partners of existing and potential clients.
Manage all aspects of the sales lifecycle, including building an active pipeline, developing client proposals, arranging demos/proof of technology and creating long-term mutual relationships.
Experience of managing C-level meetings and complex high value sales engagements.
Qualifications, Experience & Other Requirements:
Mandatory:
5 years experience in the capital markets.
5 years of experience in a sales role dealing directly with clients, winning new business and managing those relationships.
Experience managing your own territory and pipeline from prospecting to deal close.
Experience managing complex sales cycles within the Financial Services industry for a software products.
Experience working with buy-side and/or sell-side in middle and back-office operations.
Preferred:
Understanding of the Benelux or Nordic Market
Experience pitching services to the buy side market in Northern Europe
Experience with selling a SaaS offering
Travel:
Open to travel globally on short notice for trip durations of 1-2 weeks.
