About the Role
Reporting to the Head of APAC, the Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving regional commercial growth and supporting broader global expansion initiatives.
The role focuses on new customer acquisition, account expansion, and identifying strategic growth opportunities across the APAC market. You will work closely with regional leadership as well as product, marketing, pre sales, and customer success teams to ensure solutions are effectively positioned to meet customer needs and deliver long term value.
This position combines enterprise relationship building with modern digital sales approaches, including CRM driven insights, product demonstrations, and scalable demand generation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion and Strategy
• Execute go to market strategies targeting maritime stakeholders including shipowners, charterers, ports, insurers, and classification societies
• Identify and prioritise new business opportunities across key maritime segments such as vessel performance, inspections, sustainability, marine assurance, and vetting
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support product positioning and pricing strategies
Sales Execution
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure
• Maintain pipeline visibility, respond to RFPs, and lead commercial negotiations
• Partner with pre sales, marketing, and product teams to deliver tailored product demonstrations and value propositions
• Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Client Relationship Management
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders including fleet managers, chartering leaders, and safety or compliance executives
• Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers use digital solutions to improve operational performance, compliance, and sustainability outcomes
• Identify upsell and cross sell opportunities to increase account value
Collaboration and Market Feedback
• Provide structured feedback to product and go to market teams based on customer insights and market trends
• Collaborate with marketing teams to refine messaging and lead generation strategies
• Work with customer experience teams to support onboarding and ensure strong product adoption and retention
Requirements
• Proven track record generating new business and delivering revenue growth, ideally within maritime, chartering, SaaS, or digital platform environments
• Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and reporting through Salesforce or similar CRM systems
• Exposure to digital sales approaches such as product led growth, self serve models, or digital demand generation is advantageous
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to use data and insights to drive sales performance
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across regional and global teams
• Experience supporting brand awareness initiatives and industry engagement activities
