Position: Senior Quant Researcher/Trader (Remote)

About You:
You are a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quant Researcher/Trader. You have full-time trading experience (quant research/alpha research/quant trading) in crypto and significant experience within the crypto industry, particularly in either market making or high frequency trading (HFT). You’re passionate about driving product development, solving complex challenges, and mentoring junior team members.
You have startup experience, and are able to handle a challenging, ever-changing environment. You’re confident in your skillset and are able to work independently, contributing to the general alpha while the Head of Trading is driving the team. You have good administrative capabilities and are very organised. Your work ethic is excellent and you are able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You possess a blend of analytical prowess, creative thinking, and a passion for cryptocurrency. You have excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a non-technical audience and you stay updated with industry trends and regulatory developments.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Quant Researcher/Trader, you will be responsible for creating sophisticated trading models and strategies that capitalise on opportunities within the cryptocurrency markets. The successful candidate is also required to have a deep understanding of quantitative methods, Tradfi markets, and computer programming. This role requires a demonstrated ability to manage the entire lifecycle of trading strategies from conception & testing to deployment & analysis.
Technical Responsibilities:
● Research and strategy development: Conduct quantitative research to identify trading opportunities in cryptocurrency markets
● Develop, back-test and implement trading models and strategies that are aligned with my client’s risk management guidelines
● Collect, clean and analyse high frequency financial data from various sources
● Develop tools and systems for accessing and analysing market data efficiently
● Algorithm development: Design and implement trading algorithms that can execute orders based on the strategies developed. Ensure that the algorithms perform optimally under different market conditions
● Monitor the performance of trading strategies and adjust them as necessary to manage risk
● Develop metrics and tools to measure and monitor the risk associated with the trading strategies
● Work closely with other teammembers, including traders and developers to improve the trading infrastructure and strategy performance
Experience & Qualifications:
● Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering
● Must have a minimum of six years quantitative research experience, with at least the most recent three years in crypto trading
● Experience in cryptocurrency markets is a must
● Experience in either market making or long/short strategies within spot, perpetuals or options trading (ideally both)
● Experience in high frequency trading is a must
● A proven track record in developing profitable trading strategies is highly desirable
● Strong programming skills in either C++, C, Python or Java
● Proficiency in using statistical modelling and machine learning algorithms
● Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving market environment
● Startup experience is a must
● Be comfortable working in a fully remote company with team members scattered across time zones
