Requirements:
Advise on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues relating to company products and services in the electronic trading space, in Europe and internationally, including licensing.
Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of a wide range of contracts. Provide legal guidance on contractual obligations and risks.
Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
Proactively monitor and assess the impact of regulatory developments in order to devise product changes to future-proof core products and support the development of emerging products.
Develop strategies and advise on a wide spectrum of issues, including consumer protection; data security, protection and privacy; anti-money laundering and licensing.
Partner with the business on new product and services developments and enhancements.
Assist and advise on the company’s global licensing strategy and work closely with Compliance to manage our growing licence portfolio.
Assist and advise on substantive legal matters that relate to employment, litigation, consumer complaints and investigations.
What you’ll need:
5-8 years of legal experience in an in-house role for a regulated financial services company, in private practice,or in Fintech.
Ability to translate complex and ambiguous legal principles into clear and concise advice business teams can act on.
Excitement about having a seat at the table in the development of the legal jurisprudence around trading.
Ability to have some fun and enjoy your days while working hard to implement solutions across the business.
Excellent communications skills. Providing crisp and practical legal advice and synthesising complex regulatory constructs succinctly and effectively, especially in circumstances where application of the law to the underlying technology and related products is unclear.
Excellent business judgement, analytic rigour, and legal pragmatism.
Ability to navigate through legal ambiguity with a high degree of focus.
Active membership of a law society as a barrister or solicitor.
