EC1 Partners is working with an established FinTech that is on a mission to disrupt the foreign exchange market, applying innovative technology to tap FX liquidity, bring market transparency and ensure clients achieve best execution. They operate a successful core trading platform, with direct connectivity to all major banks, fronted by a sophisticated trading user interface.
They are now expanding their global platform team and are now seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineering to look after their on-perm and cloud environments here in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- A technical hands-on role, working on a blend of complex projects and BAU for the on-prem platform stack
- Leading by example as the most senior technical engineer in a global team of 4 platform engineers.
- Technical leadership of a project to migrate the platform to new data centres
- Implementation and administration of all on-premises RedHat / VMware platforms and tools, plus Pure Storage
- An ongoing bias for automation using a modern DevOps/coding approach ensuring efficient and accurate deployment, monitoring and configuration management
- Troubleshooting issues and handling incident escalations (occasionally out-of-hours) while promoting production change management processes and procedures
- Interfacing with all levels of the business and constantly striving to achieve total customer satisfaction
- Bringing your own knowledge, experience and ideas to optimise and further automate their platform stack
Requirements
- Thorough experience of working with Unix and perhaps, more recently, modern cloud technology
- Substantial experience in the automated deployment and management of Linux servers
- Extensive knowledge of managing virtual machines
- Knowledge of Rest APIs, Git, PKI and SSL certificates, RedHat/Fedora, DNS, Mail, LDAP and kernel-level debugging
- Experience in automation and management of platform configuration using tools such as Ansible, Python, Puppet, Terraform and Kubernetes an advantage
- Extensive scripting/coding experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Approachable and a team player
- Self-motivated, organised, adaptable and a quick learner
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experience of working in the financial sector could also be beneficial. However, we will offer relevant financial training to the successful candidate
- A degree in a related field, such as engineering or computer science
